I was born in a tiny town in Argentina. I grew up in a family with an agricultural background. In my childhood I used to stay with my Dad while he was working on the farm. We used to take home some sick animals such as calves, pigs, lamb, birds to look after them. During my school years, I was more interested in studying subjects such as Biology.
This, and my interest in animals, made me decide to move to another state to study veterinary science after I finished my high school studies. Before coming to Australia I was working as a vet in Argentina with large(cows) and small animals. I have been living in Australia close to four years. In the last years I was working in a beef farm.I enjoy yoga, growing my own veggies, hiking and I love to go camping and discover new places in South Australia

Have you ever found that the dog grooming service, that you paid, is not specific to the breed standard?
Many dogs have their own grooming style and it can be hard to find an individual who can cut all types of styles. However, Redgum’s grooming staff have excellent skills in dog grooming and will be able to cut and groom your dogs’ fur to most styles. We have a range of posters, books, and photos that illustrate the possible styles that the grooming team can do for you.
However, it does depend on your dogs’ fur and skin. We would love for you to take the time to look through the photos and choose one or two that reflect your vision. We have all the equipment needed to make your pet sparkle. Regular cuts and cleans keep your pet home friendly and keep your furry friend free from mattered and dirty hair.

Even though cats spend a lot of time licking and cleaning themselves, they still need regular brushing and combing to remove loose hair, prevent matting and keep the skin free of diseases and parasites, such as fleas.
Regular grooming consisting of a bath and blow dry will significantly reduce any maintenance you may find yourself needing to do on your cats. Certain coat types need more frequent bathing to be able to thoroughly prevent the development of knots, mats or hairballs. Regular grooming visits at Redgum will allow you to enjoy your cats and take away the worry of shedding, litter stuck in paws, long, sharp claws, dreadlocks, build up on the rear end and a dirty, un-fresh coat.

Colouring your dog’s fur is lots of fun, but can it harm your pet? If you use people hair colour, then yes. The process of dying a dog’s coat is harmless.
Dying pet hair has developed into an artistic creativity, as these images show.

Hydrobathing is a way of washing your pet, most commonly your dog. It works by spraying warm water over the pet from a conventional shower head (usually handheld to allow for easier access to all areas of your pet).
The shower head actually gets right through the dog’s coat to the skin, and it is this that gives the hydrobath its therapeutic benefits – both because it massages the dog and it allows the shampoos and other solutions used to penetrate right to the skin.

The shedless groom is a groom that strips the thick and dead undercoat from the dog. At Redgum, we use a specialized shampoo protocol, which is a multiple step process starting in the hydrobath, where the specialized 3-step shampoo process begins. The groomers then use high velocity blow-dryers to blow out the dead hair from your dog’s coat, and then brush your dog all over to finalize the shedless groom.
We regularly post these grooms on Facebook – people can’t believe just how much hair comes out of the dog’s coat – it is almost another whole animal! Hayley specialises in the shedless groom and are happy to talk to you about how this process might benefit your dog.

Dillian Moore is Redgum’s Kennel Manager and heads up the Boarding team. Dillian has the happiest of dispositions, and is always smiling! Coming from a strong trade background, Dillian combines the maintenance role and kennel manager role perfectly. He thoroughly enjoys his role and makes great friends with all the animals as they come into the kennels.
Dillian is supported by a range of Redgum staff, mainly Donna, Hayley and Caitlin. Several mornings a week, Shannon also helps out in the kennels and with maintenance. This means your animals get to meet a variety of new friends and have plenty of people to play with during their stay. We can’t promise they will always be as clean when they go as when they arrive – the dogs have a great time playing and running outside during the day (weather permitting), including water play in the summer, but we can assure you that they have the MOST fun!

We encourage socialization and play amongst the animals whilst they are boarding as it is a method of distracting them from the sudden environmental change. Additionally, you can rest assured that we will give them lots of love and care. We love it when clients tell us their dog is excited and wagging their tail as they come down the road to Redgum – this means they are looking forward to another play time.

You are not the only one who wants to look good all year round, so get your four-legged friend groomed at Redgum today.
